Settings

The Settings screen lets you customise how Pamusika works for you. Access it by tapping the gear icon or navigating from your Profile screen.

Pamusika supports three languages:

LanguageCode
Englishen
Shona (chiShona)sn
Ndebele (isiNdebele)nd

To change your language:

  1. Go to Settings > Language.
  2. Tap the language you want to use.
  3. The app will reload in the selected language.

Choose how the app looks:

  • Light — A bright theme for daytime use.
  • Dark — A dark theme that is easier on the eyes at night and saves battery on OLED screens.
  • System — Automatically matches your device’s light or dark mode setting.

To change your theme, go to Settings > Appearance and select your preferred option.

Pamusika lets you control exactly which notifications you receive. All notification settings are found under Settings > Notifications.

The Push Notifications toggle controls whether the app can send you any notifications at all. When turned off, you will not receive any push notifications from Pamusika.

When push notifications are enabled, you can individually toggle:

Notification typeWhat it does
MessagesGet notified when you receive new messages from buyers or sellers.
Listing ActivityGet notified when someone is interested in your listings (views, favourites, offers).
FollowersGet notified when someone follows you.
Price AlertsGet notified when prices change for listings you have saved.
Promotions & NewsReceive updates about promotions, new features, and Pamusika news.

Pamusika includes an AI assistant called Mupfuyi that can help you with farming tips, listing creation, price guidance, and more. Access it from Settings > AI Assistant to view your conversation history and start new conversations.

For more details, see the Mupfuyi AI Assistant guide.

Pamusika is designed to work even when your internet connection is unreliable — which is common in rural farming areas across Zimbabwe.

  • Browsing cached listings — Listings you have previously viewed are saved on your device and can be browsed offline.
  • Creating listings — You can create new listings while offline. They are saved in a queue and automatically published when you reconnect.
  • Editing listings — Changes to existing listings are queued and synced when you are back online.
  • Sending and receiving messages
  • Uploading photos
  • Viewing listings you have not opened before
  • Account registration and login

When you make changes offline, they are stored in a sync queue. You can see the number of pending items on your Profile screen. When your connection returns:

  • Items sync automatically in the background.
  • You can also tap Sync Now to trigger a manual sync.

You can see how much storage the app is using under Settings > Privacy & Data. The cache includes saved listings, images, and temporary data.

If the app is using too much storage or behaving unexpectedly, you can clear the cache:

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy & Data.
  2. Tap Clear Cached Data.
  3. Confirm the action.

This removes cached listings, images, and temporary data. Your account, login, and personal data are not affected.

If you need a fresh start or are handing the device to someone else:

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy & Data.
  2. Tap Clear All Data & Logout.
  3. Confirm the action.

This removes all app data including your login session. You will need to sign in again.

Go to Settings > Edit Profile to update your name, email, profile photo, and language preference. See the Profile Setup guide for details.

Go to Settings > Change Password to update your password. See the Security & Privacy guide for password requirements.

Go to Settings > Change Phone Number if you have a new phone number. You will need to verify the new number.

Go to Settings > Account Recovery to set up or manage your recovery options. See the Security & Privacy guide for the full process.

To sign out:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Account section.
  3. Tap Sign Out and confirm.

You will be returned to the login screen. Your data remains on the server and is available when you log back in.

If you want to permanently delete your Pamusika account:

  1. Go to Settings and tap Delete Account.
  2. Select a reason for deleting your account (this helps the team improve the app).
  3. Review the warning that explains what will be permanently removed:
    • All your listings
    • Your saved favourites
    • Your profile and ratings
    • All account data
  4. Confirm the deletion.

From Settings > Help & Support, you can access the onboarding tutorial again at any time. This is useful if you want a refresher on how to use Pamusika’s key features.

The About section at the bottom of Settings shows the app version and build number, which can be useful when contacting support.
